Heart-shaped truffles

  • 24 chocolate sandwich-cookies (Oreo type)
  • 1 pkg. of 250 g cream cheese, softened
  • 200 g (approx. ½ lb) of Freddo white chocolate chips cut into pieces
  • 200 g (about ½ lb) of Freddo dark chocolate chips
  • Mini heart-shaped candies (Optional)


  1. In the food processor container, reduce the cookies to crumbs.
  2. Add the cream cheese and emulsify until a homogeneous preparation is obtained.
  3. Place the preparation on a parchment-lined plate. Press the preparation until a 1 cm (½ inch) thick layer is obtained. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze from 30 to 45 minutes.
  4. Using a heart-shaped cookie-cutter, make shapes into the cookie preparation. If desired, form balls with the trimmings.
  5. Place the truffles on the plate and reserve in the freezer.
  6. In two double boilers, melt white chocolate and dark chocolate separately.
  7. Dip half of the truffles in the white chocolate and the other half in the dark chocolate. Place on the plate. Garnish immediately with mini-candies (optional). Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
