Food safety

Les Chocolats Vadeboncoeur is proud to meet strict hygiene and food safety standards. That’s why the company has a team responsible for food safety. Its members include production staff, a quality control officer and members of the management team. The food safety team is committed to following rules designed to ensure that our products are healthy, safe and of superior quality. Among other things, this involves:

  • Selecting and evaluating suppliers and raw materials
  • Quality control from the moment raw materials are received to shipping the finished product
  • Staff hygiene and clean, adapted production facilities
  • Traceability of finished products
  • Management and control of allergens in the factory

The food safety team also works to continuously improve the quality control system, ensuring an effective response to any production issue that might arise, as well as meeting consumers’ varied requirements.

Peanut and Nut-free products

At Les Chocolats Vadeboncoeur, we’re committed to making life easier for parents. Our products are made in facilities free of peanuts and nuts (almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios and walnuts, as well as their by-products, such as butters and oils). To achieve this, we operate with strict allergen controls, including processes and protocols used by our employees as well as our suppliers.


Every day, we strive to make safe, superior-quality products. Our company meets the certification standards for the Food Safety System 22000 (FSSC22000) management system recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). That means Les Chocolats Vadeboncoeur’s factory meets strict hygiene and food safety standards recognized by all agri-food producers (GFSI).
